The iconic Stanley Park tourist attraction is set to reopen later this month after being sold during the pandemic.
According to the new Executive Director, Clint Wright, exhibits including sea lions, sea otters, fish tanks and an American tropical gallery complete with gallery with snakes will all be on show at the aquarium.
The Covid-19 pandemic forced the facility to close in March 2020, it reopened several months later but announced in August of last year that it would indefinitely close on September 7. It was bought over by US based tourism and entertainment company Herschend Enterprises, who purchased the aquarium in April 2021. The company is also responsible for theme parks including Dollywood and the Harlem Globetrotters.
Herschend Enterprises also owns two other aquariums: the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky and the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey.
