The largest arts and crafts retail chain in North America, Michaels, is expecting a busy holiday season, both in-store and online.
The Michaels Companies Inc. will hire over 20,000 seasonal positions across its US and Canada stores and distribution centres in preparation for the 2021 holiday season. The retailer will host a seasonal hiring event in US stores on 28 August and in Canadian stores on 18 September. Both events will be held from 12 – 4pm local time. Michaels will hire seasonal workers across the organisation.
In 2020, Michaels hired more than 16,000 seasonal positions across its US and Canada stores and distribution centres in preparation for the holiday season. In 2019, the retailer hired some 15,000 seasonal employees.
According to Michaels, it hires more than 50 per cent of seasonal in-store positions into regular roles following the holidays. Many seasonal associates go on to become members of its store management teams.
