The Korean chicken brand is now ready to stretch its wings, expanding around the country bringing its unique take on baked chicken.
The very first Goobne Chicken opened its doors in Australia at Darling Harbour last year, and the second store is set for a September opening next to East Village in Sydney’s inner city suburb, Zetland. Following this, further store openings will be available as franchises and the brand intends to open another six new QSR locations across the country over the next 12 months.
The brand is a chicken concept with a difference; the meat is not friends but instead roasted without oil in an extremely hot oven. This style of cooking inspired the name of the brand with the word goobne meaning baked.
The ideal restaurant size for franchising is around 100 – 130sq m with a focus on high delivery and takeaway opportunities. This is the model that has worked in the domestic market and across other markets in which the brand has expanded including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao and Malaysia.
