The new customer-focussed retail concept connects Halfords autocentre and cycling offerings and is dubbed as the ‘future of Harrods.’
The new format has been opened in Colchester, Essex and is designed to make it easier for customers to find the products that they are searching for and engage with services offered by the brand. Upon entering, customers will be greeted by a welcome zone in which they can be told which part of the outlet they should visit when they arrive at the store.
Services including tyre-fitting and dedicated electric charging among others are available from the car park of the store whilst a fixed canopy is available for customers to visit for services such as sat-nav installation. Virtual assistant screens are fitted throughout the store, and a live experience area is available to assist customers in learning more about their products they are interested in buying.
The concept is set to be trialled in two other locations.
