The popular Italian beer brand will open the REX Bar at InterContinental Dubai Marina, a celebration of Italian style and culture.
Peroni Nastro Azzurro, better known simply as Peroni, will soon open its first-ever flagship bar. The nautical-inspired REX Bar will reside on the rooftop of InterContinental Dubai Marina.
The REX Bar pays homage to the Italian ocean liner SS Rex that won the 1933 Blue Riband for the fastest passenger cruise liner to cross the Atlantic. Blue Riband, which is Nastro Azzurro in Italian, later became the inspiration for Peroni’s rebranding.
This same ship and historic win is also the inspiration for the flagship bar. London-based architect Andrea Morgante is being brought in for the design. His firm has already gained favour with the brand for designing the House of Peroni pop-ups across the UK.
The new bar is promised to be a modern interpretation of the original cruise liner, leveraging the Dubai Marina location to truly tap into the nautical and marine theme.
Opening for just six months, the new bar will host a series of events showcasing trends across food, design, travel and fashion, while also “unlocking the hidden nuances of Dubai.”
