Nando’s Opens at Bourne Place in Sittingbourne

The chain has opened a new restaurant in Sittingbourne’s Bourne Place owned by Swale Borough Council and developed by Spirit of Sittingbourne.

Known for its flame grilled PERi-PERi chicken, Nando’s will have space for 100 diners inside and 12 outside seats for alfresco dining, and will create 40 new jobs in the local area.

The restaurant is the latest brand to open at Bourne Place, joining Sentado Lounge, Travelodge and The Light cinema and bowling complex which opened earlier this year. Together, they are creating a new flagship leisure quarter at the entrance to Sittingbourne town centre.

Cllr Monique Bonney, cabinet member for property and economy at Swale Borough Council, said: “We’re excited to welcome Nando’s to Sittingbourne – I know a lot of people have been waiting for this! The restaurant is another great addition to the town and shows that businesses know Sittingbourne is a great place to invest. Nando’s have waited patiently throughout the pandemic, and we are incredibly grateful to them for changing their original plans to accommodate The Light cinema and bowling alley. Together with the other businesses in Bourne Place, they have significantly improved the leisure offer in the town centre.”
