The online retailing giant has chosen Dartford’s Bluewater shopping centre to become home to its first ever 4-star mini department store outside of the US.
The store, which opened today and occupies 3,500sq ft, offers a selection of around 2,000 top selling items from Amazon.co.uk, all with user ratings of four stars or above. The items available cover a range of categories including toys, games, consumer electronics, home and kitchen products and books. Further to this, a huge selection of Amazon devices such as Fire Tablets, Kindle e-readers and Echo Dots will all be available to purchase.
Similar to its Amazon Fresh store counterpart, the new 4-Star store will feature a parcel-free, label-free returns service and collection point for online Amazon orders. Six Amazon Fresh stores have opened across London this year, and it is understood that the retail giant has secured 30 sites across the UK, with the 4-Star store format now rumoured to be a major part of the ongoing store rollout.
According to Andy Jones, Amazon 4-Star Director: “Every part of the store is designed with our customers in mind and we think they will be delighted by the curated selection of the most-loved products at great prices, opportunity to test drive Amazon’s latest devices, and the convenience of pickup and returns.”
Meanwhile, Rob Hardie, Portfolio Director for Landsec, the co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater commented: “We are excited to welcome the UK’s first Amazon 4-star store to Bluewater. We aim to create retail destinations that offer guests retail and leisure that cannot be found anywhere else.”
