Saudi Arabia’s Al Ula Welcomes British Chef

Jason Atherton, the well-known British chef, has opened a fine dining restaurant, Maraya Social on the rooftop of the Maraya Concert Hall in Al Ula.

Sat atop the Maraya Concert Hall, which is a mirrored architectural wonder in Saudi Arabia’s Al Ula and home to the Kingdom’s first Unesco World Heritage site, Maraya Social is the area’s first fine dining restaurant. It features both indoor and outdoor seating, an open-plan design and stunning views of the Ashar Valley.

Atherton said that he “jumped at the chance to be part of the exciting progress in the Kingdom.” Continuing on to say: “The beauty of the Ashar Valley, the native produce and the iconic Maraya architecture are all the ingredients we need for what is sure to be a sought-after destination dining experience.”

The food on offer has been inspired by the area of Al Ula, with produce sourced from local farms and all finished with the signature Atherton twist that combines European cooking technique with a modern look and feel.
