Smart Phone Self-Checkout Software Introduced at Westfield Mall of the Netherlands

ShopMe, the self-checkout app for shoppers, announced today that it will officially launch in collaboration with De Pindakaaswinkel in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands.

ShopMe turns shoppers’ smartphones into a self-checkout device, making shopping faster, safer and easier. Being able to scan the barcodes of the items you want to but in a store with your phone is already common place in grocery shopping, however Jerome Ibanez, Founder, ShopMe, believes that the potential for that goes beyond supermarkets and convenience stores.

Ibanez says: “In the Philippines, we have a big shopping mall culture. I can’t remember a week when we didn’t go to our local mall. What I do remember vividly, however, is that every Sunday I always stood in live because all the stores were overcrowded.”

The ShopMe software allows shoppers to scan different items to cut down on their waiting times, making the shopping experience easier and less stressful.

Claudia Pascucci, Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said: “We are constantly looking for ways to improve the shopping experience for both our retailers and shoppers and we believe ShopMe’s solution fits that purpose.”
