Amazon is adding square footage and employees to its existing tech hubs in Austin and Phoenix in the US.

The company’s latest planned tech hub investments are part of a broader multi-city expansion of technology, office and jobs across the country and company. In January 2021, Amazon leased a new 17-story office tower in Boston to support 3,000 new corporate and technology jobs there over the next several years.

The e-tail giant also previously announced it would invest more than $1.4bn in creating 3,500 new tech and corporate jobs across and expanding its tech hubs in Dallas, Detroit, Denver, New York, Phoenix, and San Diego.

Amazon plans to create more than 2,000 corporate and tech jobs in Austin, Texas, over the next few years, further expanding its existing Austin Tech Hub. These new roles will support teams growing in operations technology, Amazon Retail, Amazon Business, and Amazon Web Services, and include positions such as senior data engineers, senior technical program managers, user experience designers, and financial analysts.

Amazon will create more than 550 corporate and tech jobs in Tempe, Arizona, over the next few years, further expanding the company’s Phoenix Tech Hub. These new roles will support Amazon’s teams in Consumer Retail, Amazon Web Services, and Operations, and include positions such as software development engineers, senior solution architects, project managers, and business analysts.
