The revolutionary multiplayer arena uses Valo Motion’s proprietary state-of-the-art camera technology, eliminating the need for headsets and hand-held controllers.
The pioneering Finnish mixed reality gaming company unveiled its new immersive mixed reality indoor space, ValoArena. The first public installation will open at SuperPark in Vantaa, Finland, on 19 February and feature three different games launched within the platform.
Designed for activity parks and other indoor leisure and hospitality spaces, the freeform game follows ValoClimb and ValoJump, its other mixed reality systems, requiring no attendant or wearables for gameplay. In ValoArena, groups of up to six players choose between three different games to compete together in a simultaneously physical and virtual space on an arena-like stage where spectators can watch and cheer.
“The world is opening up again after two years of us being isolated in our own spaces,” said Raine Kajastila of Valo Motion. “With our previous products, we learned that playing together with a group of friends is the most fun and rewarding way to be active. With ValoArena, we wanted to create a game platform that allows a bigger group to experience active games together.”
