Louis Vuitton Opens Two Workshops in France

The brand has opened the workshops, which are dedicated in particular to exotic leather, in the Loir-et-Cher.

The inauguration of the luxury leather-dedicated workshops was attended by the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Marie, and Bernard Arnault, President and CEO of LVMH Group, whose leadership of the brand saw its best year in history in 2021.

Separated by a few kilometres, the two laboratories have been built according to new ecological standards, with large windows. In Azé, the new laboratory called ‘Oratoire’ has welcomed just over a hundred leather goods workers since September. The other workshop is located in Vendome and is a restored abbey. Called the Abbaye, the workshops aims to become Louis Vuitton’s flagship site for the production of precious alligator leather bags.

“Our artisans often make products that are on the waiting list,” Bernard Arnault told the press. “We have the ambition to bring to life these old leather crafts that contributed to Vendome’s prosperity before disappearing.”
