Minor Hotels will introduce its NH Collection brand in Chiang Mai with an opening on the Mae Ping River, slated for Q1 2023.
Occupying two low-rise buildings, NH Collection Chiang Mai Ping River has been developed in partnership between Osmo Ping River, a subsidiary of Osmo Properties Group, and Minor Hotels.
It will feature 79 rooms and suites (some with private swimming pools), a restaurant, cafe, art space and bar, along with a fitness centre, swimming pool and deck.
Narong Othavorn, Principal Architect at SO Architects, led the design of the development. The Ping Hill Gallery – an archway showcasing contemporary Thai art on rotation – connects the bar and cafe.
Jirath Pavaravadhana, Chairman of Osmo Properties Group, said: “We are confident that Thailand will reclaim its position as a top tourism destination, especially Chiang Mai which is blessed with natural beauty, cultural diversity, local cuisine and a pleasant climate in the cool season that has made the city popular with both Thai and international guests. It is our honour to partner with Minor Hotels on the first NH Collection in Thailand. We are excited to work with local Chiang Mai craftsmen in incorporating the art, culture and lifestyle of Lanna people into the design of this first upper-upscale hotel brand, which is already well established in Europe.”
