Don Ghermezian has long held that his American Dream centre is not a mall, but an entertainment brand. His new deal with Live Nation lends his claim credence.
Triple Five’s three million square feet attraction in the New Jersey Meadowlands, has signed a multi-year partnership with Live Nation to book exclusive concerts and live events throughout American Dreams major spaces, which include Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, Dreamworks Water Park, and the Big Snow indoor ski slope.
Live Nation today announced that hip hop star Ludacris will be the first headliner on 7 May, followed by rapper J.I. on 17 June; DJs Two Friends on 18 June; rappers Lil Tjay on 22 July and Shek Wes on 13 August; and Japanese rock band Band-Maid on 30 October.
Live Nation expects each event to draw up to as many as 3,000 attendees. Live Nation Northeast regional President Geoff Gordon said he saw this as a unique opportunity to connect live performers with their fans in an entirely new way. “We see a lot of potential here at American Dream to showcase a diverse line-up of entertainment options and drive new audiences to this entertainment and retail centre,” Gordon said.
