Guess Partners with Non-Profit Company

Guess has launched an in-store recycling program in partnership with a mission-driven business.

The program is being done in partnership with Homeboy Recycling, an R2 (Responsible Recycling) and B Corp certified company which provides high-quality reuse and recycling solutions and employs people committed to transforming their lives after incarceration.

The recycling program is available to customers at all Guess stores, including factory outlets, as well as its Accessories and Marciano stores across the US. Customers can bring in five-plus clothing items of any brand to any Guess store and receive a 15 per cent discount on their next full-priced qualifying purchase. The items will then be sent to Homeboy Recycling to be sorted and processed for repair and resale, upcycling and recycling.

“The Guess partnership with Homeboy Recycling creates economic opportunities for our Los Angeles community and offers a solution for apparel and textile waste,” said Carlos Alberini, CEO, Guess, which is based in Los Angeles.

Homeboy Recycling is housed within Homeboy Industries (HBI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which describes itself as on the leading preeminent gang rehabilitation and re-entry programs. While its core business focuses on IT asset refurbishment and recycling, through this partnership with Guess, Homeboy Recycling is launching a new category of services within the textile and apparel sector.
