Experience design company FORREC is thrilled to see the opening of LEGOLAND® Korea Resort, which includes a theme park and hotel.
Located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea, LEGOLAND Korea Resort is the first LEGOLAND Resort to be built on an island. Spanning 28ha, the park has seven themed clusters filled with over 40 interactive rides, shows, and attractions, perfect for kids and families.
Under Merlin Entertainments Ltd. and in collaboration with Merlin Magic Making, Merlin’s in-house creative and project delivery team, FORREC’s services ranged from developing the creatives and master plan design, schematic design all the way through to design development of the theme park. FORREC worked with Kay Elliot to develop a bold new design of a four-storey, 154-room themed hotel. LEGOLAND Korea is the first LEGOLAND Park to have the hotel stacked on top of the entrance to the theme park giving guests a spectacular view of the park. The construction of the hotel over the main gate creates an impressive welcome portal and hotel guests will wake-up to views over Miniland, one of the most iconic clusters within all LEGOLAND Resorts.
“FORREC collaborated closely with Merlin Magic Making to create many firsts for the IP on LEGOLAND Korea Resort which made for an incredibly exciting and rewarding process,” said Dennis Pyon, Vice-President of Operations, FORREC.
