Brazilian fashion brand Farm Rio is back in Los Angeles, this time with the opening of a point of sale in Venice Beach, on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, its third in the US market.
The brand, known for its light pieces and tropical print, chose Venice Beach because of its proximity to the beach. At 176sq m, the property features a beachy Los Angeles design, with a thatched exterior reminiscent of a vacation cabin. Brazilian architect Marcelo Rosenbaum was responsible for recreating the Brazilian tropical landscape in space.
Inside, customers can find the brand’s colourful, tropical-inspired clothing offering, as well as a variety of Brazilian-made jewellery and accessories. Typically, Farm Rio’s offering of dresses, tops and jumpsuits fall into the affordable category, with t-shirts for $35 and dresses for $265.
Farm Rio, which started its activities as a small stand at a fashion market in Rio de Janeiro in 1997, first landed in Los Angeles in 2021, with points of sale on Abbot Kinney Blvd and The Grove mall.
The brand opened its first store outside Brazil, in New York, in April 2019, followed by a store in Miami in December of the same year. More recently, Farm Rio entered into a physical distribution deal with luxury department store Neiman Marcus, after establishing online distribution partnerships with US retailers such as Shopbop and Anthropologie. Also, in March last year, the company launched its e-commerce website in the US.
