Earlier this week, Mobile World Investment Corp from Vietnam announced they had hired an adviser with the goal of exploring the potential sale of its Bach Hoa Xanh grocery chain.
The potential sale would value the business at over $1.5bn and it would be the country’s second-largest deal after the $4.8bn deal involving Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corp back in 2017 by Vietnam F&B Alliance Investment Company, according to data from Refinitiv.
“We have chosen an adviser and are working together closely to prepare needed documents for the deal,” a spokesperson for Mobile World Investment Corp told Reuters in an emailed statement. “The deal is expected to complete by the first quarter of 2023,” the spokesperson said, declining to comment on valuation and other details, citing confidentiality.
