The 43rd Amazon Fresh store has opened in Broomall, Pennsylvania and it marks the first in the state to be equipped with “Just Walk Out” cashierless shopping technology.
The new 40,000sq ft store represents at least the 13th Amazon Fresh store to open its doors this calendar year and offers the company’s “Just Walk Out” frictionless technology.
Originally available only in Amazon Go convenience and small-format grocery stores, Amazon then began rolling out Just Walk Out to select Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods locations, and also licenses the technology to third-party retailers.
The business plans to open an additional “Just Walk Out” – enable Whole Foods store in Sherman Oaks, California before the end of the year.
