Primark Kicks Off Expansion

The global value-priced retailer has kicked off its US growth plan to reach 60 stores by 2026 by opening three stores in the New York metro area.

The new openings include a just-opened location at Roosevelt Field in Garden City. The 44,290sq ft store is the brand’s 409th location globally and 14th store in the US.

Additional locations will open on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, and at City Point in Brooklyn, by the year’s end, giving Primark five stores in total in the New York City region. The company also has signed a lease for a store at Queens Center, Queens.

“We’re excited for the future for Primark in New York, as our current stores have shown the important role we can play in the region as an affordable and inclusive retailer, bringing back the allure of brick-and-mortar,” said Kevin Tulip, President, Primark US. “Primark offers shoppers affordability without sacrificing quality.”

Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark is aiming reach 530 stores by the end of 2026, including upcoming new markets of Romania and Slovakia.
