The Cordovan company Sportcom, dedicated to the wholesale sale of sports clothing and accessories, landed in Uruguay with the opening of its first showroom in the city of Montevideo.
As detailed from the company in dialogue with the local newspaper Infonegocios, this store is located in the facilities of the Costanero Hotel in the Uruguayan capital. The company’s plan involves supplying all sports stores in Uruguay.
“Since last year we began to look at Uruguay, particularly Montevideo. The arrival of Decathlon helped us make the decision because it is going to force the rest of the houses to have first-price products,” Federico Lunello, Regional Manager of Sportcom for Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru and Bolivia, told InfoNegocios.
The company’s idea is for Montevideo to become the Latin American provider to supply the offices that Sportcom currently has in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Miami.
Based in the Argentine city of Córdoba, Sportcom has its own brands such as Dribbling, Hydro or Simbra within its portfolio. In addition, they have the representation of the Dunlop firm and work with licenses of international brands such as Manchester City, PSG and Barcelona, among others.
