Launched late last year, the Korean convenience store Emart24 unveiled its first location in Singapore and it is situated in the Jurong Point shopping centre.
A second site was launched a day later in Nex Mall, a shopping complex in the northeastern region of the city.
According to Emart24, the company comes to Singapore through a joint venture company entitled Emart24 Singapore Pte. Ltd. The company will operate the Emart24 convenience stores through a master franchise agreement and plans to open an additional 300 stores in the coming five years.
The stores are both set out like standard convenience stores, with the owner hosting large sections of Emart24 exclusive items alongside household Korean brands for locals to purchase.
