The self-service chain, called Morsl, has secured $5M in a series of A-capital round, increasing the company’s valuation to $14.4M as it looks to increase its expansion.
Established in 2018, Morsl creates 1000 fresh food, snacks and drink options which includes ready-to-eat meals, salads and sandwiches. The items are all offered via a fully automated, self-checkout vending machine that is designed to look like a café.
The company will use the $5M in funding to open 20 new sites, penetrate new industries ‘beyond workplaces’ and hire key management positions to scale its business. Furthermore, Morsl’s services have expanded beyond micro markets with the company now offering coffee, hot drinks, pantry services, vending options, catering opportunities and employee engagement events.
Karla Borland, CEO, Morsl, said: “Our mission to provide easy access to healthier eating choices for Australian employees continues to gain important momentum as we reach this incredible milestone. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we had to change business focus from the corporate to the industrial sector, which remains our priority today.”
