Ardh Architects in Dubai have developed the concept for its Floating Retreat in Sharjah and the scheme is a partnership with Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).
The proposed project would feature a one-of-a-kind camping experience where guests are suspended between two mountains. The idea is that a series of individual tent-like structures, or hangars, which are equipped with electricity, heating and comfortable beds will create a truly unconventional camping experience.
“We have identified the site for the floating retreat project as Wadi Shees in Sharjah. The mountains at this location have been 3D-scanned to ensure that the project dimensions are specifically tailored to the site,” Omran Alowais, lead architect for the project, told The National.
To begin with, the project will feature 10 tents that can each hold two people and they will be situated at various levels to ensure complete privacy.
