The sports distribution retailer has opened two stores, one each in the airports of Madrid (terminal 4) and Barcelona (terminal 1).
Both stores will open their doors this week and together have created a total of 47 jobs. The store at the Adolfo Suqarez airport in Madrid will cover a surface area of 673sq m, whilst the Barcelona store will span 345sq m.
These two openings are part of the chain’s expansion strategy that will be implemented over the next three years. Gabriele Bocci, Expansion Director, JD Sports, said: “The company seeks to strengthen the presence of the brand and detect new opportunities to be closer to the public. For this, it is necessary to look for new strategic points of sale.”
Bocci goes on to say: “We are sure that both establishments will become very important showcases for JD Spain that will improve the visibility of the brand at a European level.”
