Swiss Prime Site has decided to convert and sustainably develop the Jelmoli building on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse, with plans to adapt the retail space to current market needs.
The traditional building will be renovated over a period of two years from the beginning of 2025, and following this will offer newly designed, high-quality retail areas with around 2,000sq m on the lower floors. Both existing tenants and new brands are suitable for the space.
The conversion ensures that the Jelmoli House will remain one of the largest and most attractive shopping destinations on Zurich’s Bahnofstrasse in the future. Part of the upper floors will be transformed into first-class office space and supplemented by public uses such as fitness or restaurants.
René Zahnd, CEO of Swiss Prime Site: “By converting the building, we are adapting it to today’s market needs. In addition to an attractive mix of uses and areas, this also includes flexibility and multi-party capability. Our goal is to further develop the Jelmoli House into a unique destination and an open urban meeting place.”
