The Container Store is ready to help consumers get rid of coupons from a retailer that has started store-closing sales.
The Texas-based home storage and home goods retailer on Wednesday said it would offer a 20 per cent discount off any single item (through 31 May 2023) for customers who bring a competitor’s “blue coupon” to any store location. The Container Store didn’t mention the name of the competitor. But the move comes days after Bed Bath & Beyond — famed for its legendary 20 per cent-off blue coupons — filed for bankruptcy and said it would no longer accept its signature coupons as of Wednesday 26 April, when store closing sales were stated to begin.
In other Container Store news, the retailer wants to be the “big retailer on campus” for the upcoming collegiate academic year. The Container Store Group Inc. is expanding its college offering by opening a centralised online shopping space for students heading to college. New products in The Container Store’s college shop will be available starting in May 2023. The assortment will include coffee makers, water pitchers, fans, irons, table lamps, sleep machines, diffusers, blenders, bedding, and travel bags and luggage.
