The Broadway musical Hamilton is set for a three-week run in Etihad Area from 17 January until 4 February next year.
Producers Jeffery Seller and Michael Casel announced that the Tony, Grammy, Oliver and Pulitzer Prize winning production will make its way to Abu Dhabi in 2024. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale on Friday 19 May. General tickets will be available starting Monday 22 May.
Hamilton first premiered on Broadway in August 2015 and has since gone on to play seasons in London’s West End, Australia, Germany and is now set to go on an international tour starting in New Zealand, Philippines and then in Abu Dhabi.
A blend of hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway – Hamilton is based on the story of a founding father of America, Alexander Hamilton, also the face of the $10 bill. The musical has since won 11 Tony Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
