easyHotel Paddington, one of the first hotels to open in the easyHotel portfolio, is undergoing a £1M refurbishment with new rooms and communal areas, as well as new low-carbon initiatives.
The 47-bedroom hotel, opened in 2008 and is owned and operated by local businessman Ali Al Rubaye who is covering the refurbishment costs as the hotel is modernised floor by floor. Hotel Manager Heshem Shumen and his team are working closely with easyHotel on the refurbishment.
Customers will both see and feel a difference at easyHotel Paddington with brand new four-star style mattresses and upgraded bathrooms, as well as sustainable timber used throughout the rooms. These rooms will also feature easyHotel’s signature tartan wallpaper which has earned a VinylPlus label, given only to PVC products that use recycled raw materials, are easily recyclable, and reduce carbon output during manufacturing. Infrastructure updates include new energy-efficient air-conditioning systems and sensor-operated LED lights throughout. These energy saving initiatives form a vital part of easyHotel’s low-carbon strategy for its venues, as it aims to become a leader in providing affordable and environmentally friendly accommodation across the European hospitality sector.
Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel, commented: “We’re pleased to be working in close partnership with Heshem and his team to modernise easyHotel Paddington, updating the room design and further reducing the carbon used in the running of the hotel. Our franchise model offers a great opportunity for those looking to associate their hotel with an instantly recognisable value brand. We are seeing a real resurgence in the popularity of affordable accommodation across both the UK and the rest of Europe for people wanting to travel, as well as people looking for more eco-friendly, no-frills offerings that deliver the best of value.”
