Battersea Power Station to Host The Battersea Games

Battersea Power Station will be the must-visit destination for sports and games fans this summer with the launch of its brand-new event, The Battersea Games.

Between 1 July – 3 September 2023, Battersea Power Station will be hosting, The Battersea Games, the riverside neighbourhood’s new event for the summer and is inviting all to take part or spectate in an exciting array of free and ticketed sports and games focused activities available inside and outside the Grade II* listed Power Station.

Power Station Park will be transformed into London’s newest sporting venue with a pop-up padel court from Rocket Padel, a 100m running track and 3×3 basketball court. There will also be a flexi-space where a range of brands and community groups from the likes of Nike, Be Military Fit (BMF), lululemon, NOBULL and Carney’s Community will offer a great mix of classes, from yoga, boxing, HIIT workouts and more. Known as a dog-friendly hub, visitors with four-legged friends will be thrilled to hear that charity Battersea Dogs and Cats Home will be bringing a dog-friendly agility course and hosting training sessions in the Power Station Park too.

A unique indoor climbing experience will also feature in The Battersea Games calendar. Visitors to the London landmark will be able to reach new heights on a climbing wall whilst marvelling at the post-war industrial design of the Power Station’s Turbine Hall B.

Families looking for some friendly competition should check out the Bounce Ping Pong pop-up with their games gurus ahead of the ‘home of ping pong’s’ official opening inside the Power Station this summer or head to The Coaling Jetty for a game of Boules whilst enjoying the beautiful riverside views. DNA VR will also be offering a range of fun and engaging virtual reality experiences inside the historic Power Station including laser tag and vintage arcade games such as Strike A Light and the World’s Largest PAC-MAN will be free to play inside Turbine Hall B from 8 – 9 July and 5 – 6 August.

It wouldn’t be a British sporting summer without a spot of tennis and The Wimbledon Experience presented by Ocean Outdoor and the All England Lawn Tennis Club will kick start the first two weeks of The Battersea Games with all the live action being shown on a big screen in Power Station Park. Spectators will be able to enjoy some sensationally sippable Gin and Tonics from Sipsmith, with drinks served from their new art deco Gin Bus between 13 – 16 July over the finals weekend. Plus, sports and games-themed films organised by The Cinema in the Power Station and other summer sporting fixtures such as the Tour de France and World Athletics Championships will be shown on the big screen throughout the event.
