The total game audience is projected to surpass the very high level of 640 million by 2025, according to a new study.
The number of esports enthusiasts in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is projected to hit a whopping 318 million by 2025, making the region one of the fast-rising markets for cyber games globally, the latest research said. The total game audience is projected to surpass even a far higher level of 640 million by 2025, according to the report by Newzoo.
Increased government support across games and esports, coupled with the surge in new gamers entering the market, is cited as the key driving force for the robust growth expected for the sector in the region.
“The MENA region is one of the most promising markets for cybersports due to the government’s support, investments, and the young demographic group,” Anton Vasilenko, Co-Founder and CEO of True Gamers, a global leader in esports, told Arabian Business. “Establishing specialised cybersport infrastructure such as arenas, clubs, and training centres could further accelerate the pace, significantly impacting the industry’s growth and community engagement,” Vasilenko said.
