The Chilean retail giant is launching its expansion in the Peruvian market and has confirmed the opening of its 32nd store in the country, which will be open by the end of this year.
The upcoming store will be located in the new Mall Aventura San Juan de Lurigacho shopping centre. The new Ripley’s store will be the second largest in the country, with an area of 9,500sq m, surpassed only by the Jockey Plaza flagship store, which has a surface area of 15,000sq m. The store, which will open its doors in November, will offer a new shopping experience, with all the retailer categories and omni-channel services.
Ripley advances in parallel with its digital development, which at the end of the first half of the year contributes 28 per cent of the total turnover of the chain, a figure that has grown exponentially since 2019.
With a 5.4 per cent slowdown in revenue, Ripley ended the first quarter of 2023 in the negative, affected by a slowdown in the economy, coupled with a high base of comparison. It should be noted that the first quarter of 2022 was the best first quarter in Ripley’s history.
