The company limited its activity to the online channel until last spring, when it made the leap to retail with its first store in Alcorcón (Madrid). Now, it is upping its ante on physical distribution with a second establishment, located in the Granada town of Pulianas.
The store has more than 750sq m of space, according to the chain in a statement, employs 11 people and has a space dedicated to cycling, including a bicycle workshop. Although the sport of two wheels monopolises the prominence of the space, there is a small focus on other sports activities such as running and hiking.
“With each new opening we hope to continue gaining proximity with our customers and promoting the experience in terms of the benefits of omni-channel, a strategy that is working really well for us,” says Amparo Cuerda, Co-CEO of Deporvillage.
Deporvillage was born in 2010 as an online sports equipment store and currently operates in a hundred markets, although it maintains its headquarters in Manresa (Barcelona).
