Shed Reveals New Design for BUNKERS

A new competitive socialising concept developed for Adventure Leisure Ltd uses design to create a first-of-its-kind immersive dystopian world drawing on gaming nostalgia & futuristic-world undertones.

Leading London design, brand and architecture studio, Shed, has created an immersive design for a new type of competitive socialising venue that has launched in Greater London, BUNKERS. Opened back in November in Romford’s The Brewery, BUNKERS draws concept inspiration from its gritty surrounding urban landscape to present safe passage to a world of gaming escape through a series of discoverable dystopian ‘districts’.

These districts are unique environments in their own right, and together combine to offer games such as crazy golf, electro-darts, pool, ping pong and shuffleboard as well as serving cocktails and food. This expansive pixelated gaming world is 22,000sq ft and has been designed to reset, recalibrate and refuel people as they enjoy the immersive experiences on offer within the BUNKERS.

Shed partnered with Bluecrow Projects, Bluecrow Metalwork and Bluecrow Joinery, who together realised the intricacies of the design in the build.

Nick Stringer, Co-Founder and Lead Designer at Shed says: “If you’re going to launch a new hospitality venue today it has to lead with design and that’s what Adventure Leisure trusted us to do when the idea for a new venue first came up. We developed a strong and unique design concept at the start that would not only work to appeal to the target audience for their first visit, but for every visit after that. We bedded in a strong sense of discovery and intrigue to the design elements to keep the space relevant now and far in the future. Our concepts are built to stand the test of time and scale with success, and as with our other hospitality projects such as MEATliquor, Birdies and Bounce, we envisage BUNKERS will expand as a concept too.”
