Bershka to Debut in India

Spanish fashion retailer Inditex is planning to launch Bershka in India with the first store set to open in November.

The store will be located at Mumbai’s Phoenix Palladium mall and it will be Inditex’s third brand to launch in the market, following Zara and Massimo Dutti. According to local sources, Inditex also intends to launch Pull&Bear in the market in the future, most likely next year.

Bershka, founded in 1998, also revamped its logo last year and reported €2.621bn in net sales, according to its annual report.

Last month, Inditex collaborated with Chinese e-commerce giant JD to open a flagship store for fashion label Massimo Dutti. Meanwhile, the fashion giant closed a fifth of its Zara stores in the country, indicating that its emphasis on online sales is paying off.
