Kapten & Son Reopens Cologne Branch

The company have reopened their store on Ehrenstrasse in their hometown of Cologne. The bag label has also rolled out its new store design concept, which focuses on an interactive shopping experience.

In general, everything here revolves around the product as an experience: The so-called Experience Store offers customers various stations where they can test the products – especially backpacks.

The connection to the customers’ social media channels is provided by a so-called “Magic Mirror”. In the past, store employees were often asked to take photos of customers so that they could see themselves from behind with the backpack on their back. The Magic Mirror now solves this problem, allowing you to see yourself from behind and thus check the overall look of the outfit.

At the packing table, customers can also test how much fits into the label’s backpacks. With product dummies such as laptops in different sizes, water bottles and books, the backpack can also be tried on fully packed.

“We wanted to create a store where everything revolves around the backpack. Through various experience points in the store, the customer should be able to find out everything about the products, try them out and get comprehensive advice in order to find the perfect companion for everyday life, travel and more,” explains Tonio Kantorski, General Manager Retail & Expansion at Kapten & Son.
