“The park in Opatów is an extremely important project for us. Not only because it is our ‘first born’. The project was difficult, but we managed to realise it thanks to the hard work of the entire team on site as well as in Gdańsk. And this is just the beginning of our journey because we are building more centres. The park in Opatów should allow local residents to do their shopping more conveniently,” comments Michał Nowak, the CEO of EDS Retail Park, the developer of the centre.
The project was financed from funds raised from private investors by EDS’ partner Higasa Properties through its Higasa Club investment platform.
“This is an extremely interesting undertaking from the financial point of view. On the one hand, it complements Opatów’s retail range, meets the needs of local residents and provides jobs, but it also allows individual investors to make a profit. We have opened up the commercial real estate market by providing a simple and secure tool: short term financing for up to two years, a low entry threshold from PLN 50,000 and good security which is, importantly, not based on shares. Investors know perfectly well what they have invested in because their money works at this location in Opatów,” claims Marcin Rudziński, a Higasa Properties board member.
The company’s has other projects in progress: EDS Park Debrzno (1,400 sqm) in Pomerania will be opened this year as well as the first stage of EDS Park Legnica (1,100 sqm). The construction of a 3,300 sqm centre in Reda near Gdynia will be launched soon, while other projects are also under preparation.
