Normally, the cost of an item in-store is found on the price tag and that is what you pay when you get to the till, seems simple enough doesn’t it? However what about haggling for the item(s) that you wish to purchase? You would most likely think that you would have to visit a car boot sale to do that. However, one store in London is looking to bring back the idea of haggling. Westside, a designer clothing store, located in Brixton, London is now allowing customers to actually haggle the price of items and obtain designer fashion for a fraction of the cost.
The fashion retailer has changed the rules as it sets out to differentiate itself from other clothing retailers and indeed clothing stores within a close proximity of the Westside Store. They have incorporated an instant messaging feature – which allows users to haggle in real time for the items that they are wishing to buy. It’s an interesting USP from the retailer as they look to tackle fierce online competition head on and hopefully lure in new potential customers keen to haggle for the latest fashion items at the best possible price.
