Nakheel cuts mall opening hours

Dubai’s Nakheel has announced revised opening times for Ibn Battuta Mall and Nakheel Mall ahead of Wednesday closures. Meanwhile Carrefour has said operating hours remain normal but they are introducing new measures to help stop the spread of the virus.

Retail destinations in the Nakheel Malls portfolio are changing their operational hours on Monday and Tuesday ahead of a two-week closure announced earlier by the UAE government. Supermarkets, clinics and pharmacies will continue to operate normally but other retailers will only open from midday to 8pm, the Nakheel unit said in a statement related to the coronavirus outbreak.

As per government directives, restaurants will operate a delivery service only, it added. The revised hours apply to Ibn Battuta Mall, Nakheel Mall, Nakheel community Pavilions and Dragon Mart.

“We encourage all our valued customers to shop responsibly and be mindful of others. We have full confidence in our stock and supply chain and we continue to monitor stock levels to ensure we adequately cater to customer needs,” said Philippe Peguilhan, Country Manager of Carrefour UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
