Billionaires are donating to relief efforts against the pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic is currently in full swing and is showing no sign of stopping as it sweeps across the globe. A small percentage of the world’s billionaires are now donating to the fight against the virus, however some are giving more than others it would appear.

There is 2,095 billionaires in the world and according to research by Forbes, it’s believed that at least 77 of them have reached into their wallets. The billionaires include Jack Dorsey (Twitter) has emerged as the most generous giver so far, after announcing on April 7 that he was moving $1 billion of his Square stock—about a quarter of his $3.9 billion net worth—into an LLC to support COVID-19 relief efforts and other causes.

Donald Trump has made a $100,000 donation, which is only a quarter of his salary to the Department of Health and Human Services, which when put into perspective equates to only 0.005% of his $2.1 billion net worth.
