Kuwait has stated that it is to relax its curfew hours from 6pm to 6am from Saturday. The country initially imposed the 24-hour curfew from May 10 as part of its efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
While this will now be reduced to twelve hours, at an extraordinary meeting that was held by the government, it announced that strict lockdown measures were to be imposed in certain areas following a spike in the number of cases of coronavirus.
On Thursday, Kuwaiti health authorities announced 845 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 24,112.
