The sneaker retailer Subtype has opened its first location in New Zealand with the launch of a fashion concept in Auckland.
Within the new store are the premium edition sneakers from Common Projects, Drôle De Monsieur, Carhartt WIP, adidas Originals, ASICS and New Balance, as well as New Zealand exclusive brands including A-COLD-WALL, ADER Error, Warrior, Li-Ning, Salomon S/Lab, Sporty & Rich and Fear of God. Meanwhile the fit-out of the unit was inspired by moving water, with full animation walls and dressing rooms filled with optical illusions.
“Every detail has been clearly carved out with a premium sneaker and fashion experience in mind,” the retailer said. “The first few weeks of Subtype will immediately see an array of launches worth camping overnight for, these include coveted special releases from Nike Quickstrike, Nike Air Jordan and Converse to follow on from the opening day launch from adidas YEEZY.”
Noise Noise Noise, the award-winning international design studio behind the Subtype store, designed it to create a “truly unique sneaker gallery concept”.
