Months after it was forced to shut down because it was pushed to breaking point, Ocado is relaunching its app.
Back in mid-March, online grocer Ocado saw a jump in traffic of 1,000 per cent and after numerous crashes and website failures, the company was forced to take down its app as it tried to serve as many customers as possible.
Mel Smith, the online grocer’s Chief Executive, told customers in a blog that: “No matter how hard we work, we simply do not have the capacity right now to meet all the demand we are seeing from existing customers, let alone new ones”.
However, the company is now “pleased to confirm that we are starting to slowly turn back on the Ocado app”.
