Buff, a nail studio from Emma Forrest, has big plans for growth in the coming years.
Getting her nails done was always part of the routine for Emma Forrest, but instead of simply going to her local salon for this, she decided to open her own nail salon.
The salon is situated on Church Street in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. Buff is a modern-looking nail studio with a strong focus on customer experience and hygiene, two areas she felt were lacking in the average Australian nail salon today.
“We have two tiers of salons here. There’s your cheap and cheerful, which is located on a high street, and you’re in and out, but the quality is not necessarily good and the staff are not necessarily trained,” Forrest, who previously worked in e-commerce at Aesop, told Inside Retail.
“Then you have your high end salon, where you’re paying a premium. The quality is great, but it’s not affordable to go every two weeks. It’s more of a pampering experience. We want to be in every high street; we want to reset the expectation of what a nail salon should be,” Forrest said.
