Reports are suggesting that Next is the leading candidate to become the UK franchise partner for Victoria’s Secret.
There would appear to be the beginnings of an agreement in place which would mean Next take over the running of the business on this side of the Atlantic. It must be pointed out that nothing is certain or is completed at this stage.
In times gone by Next has suggested it has been looking at ways to expand its wider business by linking up with other brands that span multiple categories, while also opening standalone stores in expanding categories such as beauty.
This news comes several weeks after L Brands; the US lingerie retailer’s parent company placed the UK arm into administration which immediately saw 800 jobs put at risk and the possible closure of 25 stores.
