Amazon will open a fulfilment centre and a delivery station in Florida in 2021.
The e-tail giant intends to launch a new, more-than-600,000sq ft fulfilment centre in Temple Terrace, Florida. Employees at the site will work alongside automated technologies to pick, pack and ship smaller customer items such as books, electronics, small household goods and toys. Amazon expects to create 750 full-time jobs at the facility, including roles in HR, operations management, safety, security, finance, and IT.
Amazon currently operates seven fulfilment and sortation centres in Florida. The centres are located in Jacksonville, Davenport, Orlando, Miami, Ruskin, and Lakeland.
“We’re excited to be growing our operations in Florida and we are excited to open a new fulfilment centre in Temple Terrace,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s VP of Global Customer Fulfilment. “Amazon is committed to providing great jobs with industry-leading pay and benefits, starting on day one, in a safe, innovative work environment. Amazon is grateful for the continued support we’ve received from local and state leaders and we look forward to creating over seven hundred jobs for the Temple Terrace community.”
