Glossier has decided not to reopen its three store locations for the remainder of the year and consequently will have to lay off their retail employees.
In the continued disruption of the global pandemic, many retailers are unable to reopen their stores and Glossier is the latest brand to fall victim. For the beauty brand, reopening was made harder due to the experiential touch-and-feel element usually offered in their stores, which will need some reimagining to work in the ‘New Normal’ of retail.
Their e-commerce offering continues to be strong as beauty sales are continuing to move online.
