Japanese apparel company World Co is planning to shut 358 outlets.
The move comes following the impact of Covid-19 and the subsequent impacts on the retail industry with other Japanese retail brands also announcing plans to scale back their operations due to the lasting effects.
The closure plan will implement a voluntary early retirement programme for staff, around 200 of which will be laid off. Final closures are expected to be made by next February 2021 with firms 43 stores closing consecutively throughout Japan.
