New York Museums and Institutions to Reopen

Following months of closure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Governor of New York has confirmed the reopening of cultural locations.

The numbers of coronavirus cases in New York have finally fallen below 1% for a consecutive seven days which has been a big contributing factor in the decision. Museums will be allowed to open at 25% capacity and must use a scheduling system to ensure that the number of visitors remains under control. Visitors will also be expected to wear face masks.

The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the City of New York are all set to reopen from August 27 onward and are delighted to be welcoming visitors with safety measures in place to experience the cultural institutions.
