Oakridge Centre and its retailers will close their doors at the end of September to facilitate the Vancouver Mall’s huge redevelopment plan.
Upon reopening, which is expected to be in 2024 the mixed-use destination is expected the single biggest development in Vancouver’s history. The new Oakridge Centre will offer nearly one million square feet of unique, experiential retail as well as office space, residential towers and a nine-acre public park and community centre.
A handful of retailers will stay open throughout the redevelopment period including the 182,000sq ft Hudson’s Bay anchor store. The Crate and Barrel store as well as the food court and medical service locations will also remain open.
Upon its redevelopment, the centre is anticipating to eventually see about 42 million visitors per year.
